Institute for Rural Management

The Institute for Rural Management is an integral part of the Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto, within which a team of researchers and experts operates, forming the research group of the Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto.

Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto established the Institute with the aim of creating new fundamental and applied knowledge in the fields of rural management and transferring this knowledge to the environment to improve the quality of life in rural areas. The Institute realizes its mission through research, projects, conferences, consultations, training of students, school employees and other stakeholders in the local, regional, national and international environment.

The Institute responds to the increasing demands and challenges of rural areas by permanently increasing the number of members in the research group, as the field of research and development work is becoming increasingly complex and widespread. At the same time, the Institute also strives to establish cooperation, especially with younger colleagues who are successful external higher education teachers, but who, due to their status, cannot be official members of the research group within the Institute, especially in the field of exchanging and upgrading knowledge and raising the competences of all stakeholders in the process.

The Institute for Rural Governance follows the Excellence Policy of the Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto, its mission, values and vision. The most important strategic direction of the Institute for Rural Governance is the excellence of applied research work.

Journal of Landscape Governance (JLG)

The scientific and professional journal Journal of Landscape Governance (JLG) was established within the Institute, and accordingly, instructions for authors regarding writing contributions and publishing the journal were created. Authors of articles in the journal are provided with regular entries in bibliographic databases. Thus, the publishing activity of the Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto is also an integral part of the Institute for Rural Governance.

Since their establishment, both the Institute and the Landscape Governance College Grm Novo mesto have been involved in various applied research projects.
